Job Title: Patient Care Associate – Labor & Delivery

Type: Contract
Shifts Available: Night, 7.5 hours/day, 5 days/week
Pay Rate: $25–$29/hr
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Patient Care Associate – Labor & Delivery for an exciting Travel or Local job in Brooklyn, NY.
Responsibilities:
Check and record vital signs, weight, measurements, and obtain patient specimens.
Guide patients on specimen collection and perform basic specimen screening (dipstick, hemocult).
Label and prepare specimens for pickup; retrieve laboratory results.
Perform vision and hearing tests, simple urinalysis, and basic first aid.
Administer emergency first aid and basic life support procedures.
Assist during patient examinations; prepare and sterilize exam rooms and instruments.
Conduct routine patient interviews to collect medical and personal information.
Maintain, file, and process patient charts and documentation.
Report patient observations to medical staff and respond to routine patient inquiries.
Provide health-related information to patients and families.
Maintain inventory of unit supplies and equipment.
Escort patients to other departments and assist in appointment scheduling.
Perform venipuncture and fingerstick blood collection.
Operate electrocardiograph equipment for EKG procedures.
Collaborate with clinical team and assist in onboarding new staff.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience (required).
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Completion of a NYS Department of Health–approved Phlebotomy training program.
Training in electrocardiograph (EKG) performance and Basic Life Support (BLS), including active CPR certification.
